What I’ve Been Up To Lately

(Updated on 09. April. 2026)

I’ve been working on a few collaborations, including sites like I Have That On Vinyl, New bands for Old Heads, and the 5-to-9 Blog. I also recently participated in a Best Records of 1989 bracket challenge, writing dispatches for each of the daily (M-F) matchups. The Best of 2001 has now kicked off and is fully underway. Some of these are long form, some are quick hits, and some might just be a handful of sentences. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Chinwags and hot takes welcome!

Recently, I was a guest on the What Am I Making podcast, where I answered questions about records that have shaped my life. If you’ve ever wondered about the method(s) behind the madness on this blog, it’s a good place to start. In November, I had a chance to appear as a guest on the Vital Records series for Andres Celati’s Vinyl Room, and returned recently to talk about a couple of unusual records in my collection.

I’m also busy building the thriving On Repeat Records community, and editing The Riff over on Medium.

When I’m not spinning records, or talking about them, I can usually be found at a rugby field. My youngest took the sport up a year ago, and it’s been both a steep learning curve and a lot of fun. With spring (sorta) in sight, I’ve also been getting my bike ready to ride. The more often that happens, the happier I am.

Still in my day job at the airport, but the countdown to retirement has officially begun. 587 (ish) days to go as of this writing!
