What I’ve Been Up To Lately

(Updated on 16. January. 2026)

I’ve been working on a few collaborations, including sites like I Have That On Vinyl, New bands for Old Heads, and the5-to-9 Blog. I also recently participated in a Best Records of 1989 bracket challenge, writing dispatches for each of the daily (M-F) matchups. Some of these are long form, some are quick hits, and some might just be a handful of sentences. As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Chinwags and hot takes welcome!

Recently, I was a guest on the What Am I Making podcast, where I answered questions about records that have shaped my life. If you’ve ever wondered about the method(s) behind the madness on this blog, it’s a good place to start. In November, I had a chance to appear as a guest on the Vital Records series for Andres Celati’s Vinyl Room, and will be making a return in early February.

I’m also busy building the thriving On Repeat Records community, and editing The Riff over on Medium.

When I’m not spinning records, or talking about them, I can usually be found at a rugby field. My youngest took the sport up a year ago, and it’s been both a steep learning curve and a lot of fun. Now that the weather’s turning, I’ve also been riding my bike more. The more often that happens, the happier I am.

Still in my day job at the airport, but the countdown to retirement has officially begun. 670(ish) days to go as of this writing!
